WSET® Level 1 Award in Wines
A beginner level introduction to wine suitable for those starting a wine career or pursuing an interest in wine.
For individuals new to wine study, this qualification provides a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. Explore the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste, while also gaining the basic skills to describe wines accurately, and make food and wine pairings. Upon successful completion, participants receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin.
WSET® Level 2 Award in Wines
WSET's Level 2 Award in Wines is an intermediate level qualification exploring wines, suitable for industry professionals and wine enthusiasts.
This qualification is intended for those wishing to learn about a wide range of wines or those seeking to build on the introductory knowledge gained with the WSET Level 1 Award in Wines.
Gain knowledge of the principal and regionally important grape varieties of the world, the regions in which they are grown, and the styles of wine they produce. Through a combination of tasting and theory, explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.
No prerequisite wine qualifications are needed to join this course.
WSET® Level 3 Award in Wines
WSET Level 3 Award in Wines is an advanced qualification for those looking to develop a detailed and structured understanding of wines of the world. It is suited to committed wine enthusiasts and industry professionals who want to analyse, evaluate, and communicate wine with confidence.
This qualification builds on existing wine knowledge and explores how viticulture, winemaking, geography, climate, law, and commerce influence the style, quality, and price of wines across the world’s key regions. Through a combination of in-depth theory and structured analytical tasting, students explore approximately 60 international and benchmark wines, developing the skills required to assess wine quality and readiness for drinking.
Completion of WSET Level 2 Award in Wines is highly recommended, as Level 3 is fast-paced and academically demanding.
